Belarus set to announce amnesty
The amnesty bill is to be tabled to the House of Representatives in June. According to preliminary estimates, up to 3000 people are to be freed. The amnesty will also apply to 7000 people which were prosecuted without imprisonment, including those who committed crimes due to recklessness.
Several categories of minor crimes will also be covered by the upcoming amnesty, said Belarus's Interior Minister Uladzimir Navumau.
