Belarus to stop imports of agricultural machinery: Lukashenka

Belarus will stop importing the foreign-made agricultural machines, Alexander Lukashenka said on November 30 while opening the second day of the seminar for officials from the national and local executive bodies. "We would wish to continue buying imported agricultural machinery worth of hundreds of million dollars. But we have invested millions dollars into the domestic industry, so we have to rely on our own machinery," official sources quoted the president as saying. Lukashenka also noted that his decision to ban the imports of agricultural machines was made following a proposal from First Vice Prime Minister Uladzimir Syamashka.
