Belarusians have been poisoned with radiation since the 1960s. Professor Yury Bandazheuski, former rector of Homel Medical Institute, who left for the West after having served his sentence for a bribe he was said to have accepted. He continues his scientific research there. According to Bandazheucki, people living in Belarus and in the European part of Russia have been eating radioactive products starting from the 1960s.
