Belarusians marking Labor Day
The international day of workers' solidarity is marked on May 1 in over 140 countries. In Belarus, this holiday was approved by the president's decree on March 26, 1998. This holiday has been marked since late 19th century when on May 1, 1886 labor activists in the U.S. and Canada staged several demonstrations, demanding to introduce a 8-hour working day.
