Brest customs officers confiscate materials about Stalin repressions
Information materials about Stalin repressions and the campaign in defense of the freedom of speech were confiscated by Brest customs officers from Dzmitry Sadouski, the secretary of the steering committee of the “Belarusian Christian Democracy Party”.
The incident took place on the morning of August 14. A group of young politicians were heading for Poland to attend a seminar “Prospects of Christian Democracy in Eastern Europe”.
A disk containing information about Stalin repressions and a text by Vasil Bykau was taken away from Sadouski. The activist was detained for two hours and was made to write an explanatory memorandum.
