Building site for Belarusian nuclear power plant to be chosen till the end of 2008

The final decision about the building site for the Belarusian nuclear power plant will be made before the end of 2008. Alyaksandr Lukashenka claimed it during a yesterday’s meeting dedicated to the issue of construction of the nuclear power plant.
Lukashenka was informed about the results of the research conducted in three potential building sites. It was noted that the results had been given high praise by IAEA.

There are no factors that could hinder the construction in any of the sites but there are some limitations that will be analyzed during an additional research. 3 or 4 months will be dedicated to it.

BelaPAN reminds that three places may become building sites: Kukshynauskaya and Krasnapalyankskaya and Mahileu Region and Astravetskaya in Hrodna Region.
