Collection of signatures in support of Ivan Tsihan continues in Hrodna
178 inhabitants of Hrodna have signed the appeal in support of hammer-thrower Ivan Tsihan. People believe that he is innocent and sign the appeal that will be sent to the National and International Olympic Committees.
Let us remind you the OIC Disciplinary Commission decided that the silver and bronze medal winners of Beijing Olympics, hammer-throwers Vadzim Dzevyatoski and Ivan Tsihan, will have to give their awards back. Tsihan is disqualified for 2 years and Dzevyatouski – for life for positive dope tests. The sportsmen claimed that they could not accept the decision and were going to appeal it in the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.
The action in support of Ivan Tsihan started in Hrodna (the sportsman lives there) on December 17. It was initiated by journalists of “Evening Hrodna” they published an appeal to support the athlete and asked readers to give their signatures in his support.
The collection of signatures will last till December 31.
