Committee to Protect Journalists urges to stop pressure on independent media

The Committee to Protect of Journalists has urged the Belarusian authorities to stop pressure on the Belarusian independent mass media on January 11, informed the Committee's scientific employee Muzafar Suleimanov to BelaPAN.

Suleimanov stated that the KGB still raided the editor's offices, confiscated reporters' equipment from the offices and apartments of journalists, kept the representatives of the independent and opposition media in custody, and influenced their families. 

The Committee to Protect Journalists — is an independent non-commercial organization with headquarters in New York. It declatres its goals as assistance to the freedom of press in the whole world and protection of the journalists' right to cover news without fear.
