Did KGB shatter “Tell the Truth” campaign with the help of Smolensk Chekists?

A website “Belarusian Partisan” describes the details of the attack directed against a civil campaign “Tell the Truth”. According to journalists, Alyaksandr Lukashenka held a secret meeting with representatives of security agencies on the eve of the attack. I was dedicated to the counteraction to independnet mass media. Victar Lukashenka, the coordinator of the special operation, the head of the Operative Analytical President’s Centre Vakulchyk and the head of KGB Zaitsau were given blanket authority and cart blanche.

Belarusian security agencies asked their Smolensk colleagues for help. Activists of the campaign wanted to print its materials in a Smolensk printing house. Belarusian Chekists managed to make Russian business men complain that the Belarusian opposition members had violated their rights. It was done with the help of Smolensk department of the FSS. The case of “Tell the Truth” is based on those complaints. At the same time, the central office of the FSS was unaware of this “Smolensk cooperation”.

The fact whether Smolensk security agencies had any contacts with Belarusian security agencies may be checked. “Belarusian Partisan” notes that Smolensk has turned into a secret place where Belarusian security agencies can act freely.
