EHU senate demands to release detained students and teachers

The senate of European Humanitarian University demands to release the university students and teachers detained by Minsk police on December 19 and 20 as soon as possible. "Senate members think that citizens have the right to express their attitude to the election campaign at meetings and manifestations.  Senate members demand to release all the illegally detained citizens including EHU students and teachers immediately”, - is said in the statement published in the university website.

The coordinator of EHU students’ service Tatstsyana Babich has informed Euroradio that according to the preliminary information the following EHU students are detained: Yauhen Hladkі (15 days of administrative arrest), Emіl Yarmohіn (15 days), Katsyaryna Klіmko (10 days) and Hleb Hamutou (15 days); students Anastasiya Palazhanka and Syarhei Smalyak are probably detained too.

An EHU teacher Alyaksandr Fyaduta, representative of former presidential candidate Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu, is also detained.
