EU, Belarus hold first round of talks in Prague over human rights
The European Union and Belarus have held the first round of a dialogue on human rights, the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN reports, quoting the press office of the EU. The first round took place on June 16-17 in Prague. The parties exchanged opinions about the protection of human rights in Belarus and the EU, including the freedom of assemblies, labor rights, the freedom of expression and the press, religious freedoms, the rights of migrants, etc.
During the talks, the parties also touched on certain issues in Belarus and the European Union that were associated with the agenda of the meeting.
The EU officials met representatives of Belarus and international NGOs before the talks.
