Europe to fight internet censorship in totalitarian countries?
The European Parliament has passed a legislation proposed by the Netherlands's People's Party for Freedom and Democracy, aiming to fight internet censorship in the totalitarian countries. The proposal targets in the first places the countries which routinely restrict citizens' access to the internet. The legislation will soon be tabled at the European Council.
If adopted, the issue of the internet censorship will be raised every time during trade negotiations with the countries that have introduced internet censorship, reports Nasha Niva newspaper.
