European students stand for Belarusian ones
The European Students Union declared its concern with regard to the destiny of the detained Belarusian students. The organization unites many European student organizations. The Union did not limit its work to just a common appeal on inacceptability of violence - it started working with each Belarusian university separately. The Union condemned the Belarusian authorities' repressive methods, as a result of which our students found themselves imprisoned. To the opinion of the organization, which represents more than 11 million European students, it is possible that the detained students will be expelled from universities.
The Union called on the international community to start pressure on the Belarusian authorities in order to stop arrests and release the detained students.
The Union has already sent letters to 15 Belarusian higher educational establishments with a demand not to expel the students detained on December 19. Student unions of Czech Republic, Austria, France and Switzerland joined the action of solidarity with Belarusians, informs Generation.bY
