Exotic marabou caught in Vitsebsk Province
Vitsebsk zoo has received an African marabou not from foreign sponsors but from inhabitants of the village of Zadubouye. The bird lived near the village the whole summer and ate carrion in the local cattle burial ground. Inhabitants of the village decided it was a black heron. They got worried when the bird did not fly south together with storks. When it started freezing, they brought the bird to Vitsebsk zoo. Specialists have found out that it was a real marabou! Nobody knows how it appeared in Vitsebsk Province.
