Eye-witness: "The jet flew low right above the five-storeyed buildings and fell..."
The inhabitants of Radziavilavichy and Khatynichy in Hantsavichy district told the European Radio for Belarus how the MiG-29 military jet fell near their villages on September 23. "It was flying over the buildings, over the five-storeyed ones. Very low. It hardly managed to fly out of Radziavilavichy and fell…" – says an inhabitant of Khatynichy.
"It was a working time, a little after 5 p.m., – says another inhabitant of the place. – They fell in the woods. There is a swampland and forest there. It's pretty much away from the village, but even though we did see the smoke".
"There have been plenty of jets during the last several days, – adds an ambulatory worker from Radziavilavichy. – There must have been some training flights but I'm not sure why exactly".
