Finland guarantees access to fast Internet for everyone

Finland has become the first country in the world guaranteeing access to fast Internet for every citizen. According to the new legislation, telecommunication services are obliged to provide this service in all inhabited localities. The minimal speed should reach 1 Mb/sec. 5 million Finns can expect to get such Internet access. The Ministry of Communication has announced that the minimal speed will increase up to 100 Mb/sec within the next 5 years.

The decision of the Finnish authorities has approached the UN to its decision to announce Internet access one of the inalienable human rights, notes Onet.pl.
