Gas dispute settled, Gazprom says to European Commission

Russian energy giant Gazprom has orally notified the European Commission that the gas dispute was settled, said European Commission spokesperson Marlen Holzner said in a statement. "We have not received an official notice", she is quoted as saying by the Russian news agency Ria Novosti. Neither the Russian nor Belarusian governments have sent official confirmations to the European Commission yet.

EU officials expect the volume of natural gas supplies to be restored in full, and they should not be affected by disputes over the payments for gas transit fees.
