"Greens" turn authorities' attention to other plants after "Pinsk Wood" blast
The "Green" party does not hurry to close the enterprises which do not meet the ecological requirements. This was informed to Euroradio by the party's potential presidential contender Jury Hlushakou. Let us remind you that after the "Pinsk Wood" blast the party has approved an appeal to the authorities asking to strenghen control over township forming and export-oriented enterprises. The enterprises which do not meet ecological requirements should be closed, think the "Greens".
Mr. Hlushakou says that he ranks the issue of closing the enterprises last. To his opinion, we should not sacrifice the economic interests of the country, as well as the interests of the people who work at these enterprises.
Hlushakou: "First, the enterprises should be improved to the level of safety which would meet the requirements of both people's community and existent normatives of the Republic of Belarus. Secondly, if the enterprises fail to do that, if they do not want it or have no possibilities, they need help. Thirdly - we should consider the possibility to close them".
Hlushakou says that during the campaign on collecting signatures his nomination group got compalints at working conditions at Minsk Radiator Plant, Chemical Plant in Druzhny settlement etc. He is convinced that the directive No. 4 "On Liberalization of Economics" will lead to the situation when people's health and environmental saftey will be sacrificed in order to get more money.
