Grybauskaitė: the "Bankauskas case" should not afflict our relations with Belarus

The President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė spoke about the detention of the policeman Laimanas Bankauskas in Belarus. She hopes that Belarusian law-enforcement agencies will understand the situation and conduct investigation operatively and quickly.
According to her words, broadcasted by the "Lithuanian Courier", Lithuania is interested to receive responses with regard to this detention as soon as possible.

Dalia Grybauskaitė also expressed her hope that this incident would not afflict Belarusian-Lithuanian relations.

We remind, that the company commander of Vilnius Chief Commissariat Laimanas Bankauskas had been detained near the Belarusian-Lithuanian border. The officer was accused of transporting amphetamine.
