Harkavets: inflation and price escalation not to nullify wage increase

A draft of the republican budget for 2011 has been approved by the House of Representatives in the first reading. Some questions suddenly arose after the report of the Minister of Finance Andrei Harkavets. Deputy Mantsevich wondered whether the increase of wages of workers on a government payroll could result in price escalation. Harkavets promised that inflation and price escalation would not nullify the wage increase.

According to him, it will be done with the help of budget grants and control over price escalation. Deputies wondered what the cost of energy carriers was going to be like according to the budget. However, Harkavets did not specify the price. He said it was necessary to wait for the results of negotiations in Moscow.
