Hrodna opposition members at law to get places in district election committees

Hrodna opposition members demand to reconsider the creation of district election committees in Hrodna Province.
“Of course, we have been refused!”, - a member of the Belarusian Social Democratic Assembly  Uladzimir Hilmanovich commented on it to ERB after the today’s hearing in Hrodna Lenin District Court. Hrodna affiliate of the Belarusian Social Democratic Assembly disagrees with the results of the creation of district election committees and has lodged a complaint to court.

According to Uladzimir Hilmanovich, judge Ala Basyuk decided that district election committees had been created according to the law and that there was no reason to reconsider their composition. The decision of October District Court has not been announced yet.

The hearing of a similar complaint lodged by the UCP is in process at the moment. The complaint of Hrodna affiliate of the BPF Party will be considered in Lenin District Court in the afternoon. Representatives of opposition parties in Masty and Svislatch have also sent appeals to court asking to reconsider the composition of district election committees.

It is known that only 6 opposition party members out of 100 have been included in election committees in the regional centre. On the whole, 132 election centres have been created in the city.
