Hungary to open embassy in Minsk on June 3

Hungary's Embassy in Belarus will be officially opened on June 3 in Minsk, reports the official news agency Belta. The trade turnover between the two countries in 2007 rose 29 percent against the previous year to reach $270.4 million. Export accounts for $140 million (up 42.2 percent), with imports registered at $130.4, according to the Ministry of Statistics.

Belarus's export (mainly, petrochemical products, tractors, steell, processed wood, potashium fertilizers) totalled $49.2 million in 2007. Hungary exports medicines, TV sets, telephones and other electric devices, agricultural machinery.
