IMF to give Belarus $2.5 billion credit

The IMF board of directors decided to allocate a $2.5 billion credit to Belarus on Monday, reports “Interfax”.
According to the IMF’s decision, the first part of the credit ($800 million) will be sent to Belarus in January 2009.

Let us remind you that Belarus asked the IMF for a credit in mid October explaining it by the necessity of creation of a safety pillow to avoid the negative influence of the world economic crisis on the Belarusian economy.
