Judgement Day in Belarus
Three trials are taking place in Belarus today, on May 12. Syarhei Kavalenka stands trial for hoisting a national flag in Vitsebsk. Alyaksandr Kazulin and Ales Makayeu, Mikola Dzemidzenka and Uladz Yaromenka stand trial for solidarity with the Vaukavysk entrepreneurs. A hearing of the case of a Protestant church “new life” has also started today. Believers are accused of causing damage to the environment and are demanded to pay a $100 thousand fine.
