KGB inform they will not change restraint for Ales Mikhalevich
The parents of the pupils of the 4A form of the grammar school No. 23 in Minsk, where Aliaksei Mikhalevich's elder daughter studies, have received the response to their enquiry to change the restraint for the ex-presidential candidate. They also declared their intention to be his bail granters. The Chairman of the parents' committee Siarhej Leshchanka has told Radio Liberty that the KGB sent their response to the legal address of the grammar school No. 23.
"The contents are appoximately as follows: a parents' committee or a parents' assembly is not a civil organization which may be in any way connected with this case, thus we cannot make such enquiries and the restraint for Ales Mikhalevich will not be changed now", - Leshchanka has told.
A human rights activist Tatsiana Hatsura considers that this response does not meet the legislation's requirements.
"According to the Criminal and Procedural Code, persons who deserve to be trusted and who give written obligation that a suspect or an accused will not hide from the bodies of the criminal prosecution or the court while staying free, can be bail granters. I think that the parents are just the people who deserve to be trusted", - the human rights activists has said.
Let us remind you, Aliaksei Mikhalevich has been in custody in the KGB detention center since December 20, 2010, together with other 37 accused in the mass disturbances.
