KGB officers confiscated Ales Bialiatski's laptop and "old papers"
KGB officers confiscated a laptop and "old papers" from the Vice-President of the International Human Rights Association Ales Bialiatski, reports BelaPAN.
The human rights activist informed that the KGB representatives searched his country house and his office, as well as the apartment where his wife and son live, on January 17 from 3 p.m. till 9 p.m."They've looked for office equipment, bills, receipts. They have confiscated a laptop which was in the office, and documents related to a series of old court trials", — Bialiatski said.
He clarified that the KGB representatives had conducted no interrogation. "When they were searching the office they told me they would take me for an interrogation,but drove me to my country house, which is located 30 kilometers away from Minsk, instead. They prohibited me to switch on my cell phone", — stated the human rights activist.
According to Bialiatski, he is a witness in the mass disturbances criminal case.
This was the second search in the Minsk office of the human rights center after the presidential election. Office equipment was confiscated upon the results of the first search on December 20.
