Khamenka: "Our main goal is to appear on Belarus TV"

The semi-final concert of the Eurofest national qualification stage for Eurovision'2008 will take place today in Minsk. The Belarus's Channel One will screen the show in a live broadcast at 2145. The only Belarusian-language song among 15 participants will be performed by Palac. This band was recently on the black list of banned artistes in Belarus. During the draw yesterday, Palac got No 12.

The band's frontman, Aleh Khamenka told the European Radio for Belarus that he "was rather satisfied with his number".

The list of semi-finalists includes: The Champions, Alena Valoshyna, Yuliya Huseyeva, Hanna Sharkunova and Herman Tsitou, Ruslan Alyakhno, Aksana Kavaleuskaya, band PinCode, Viktar Pshanichny, Gunesh, band Scandal, band Po Glazam, band PALAC (No 12), band Dali, Katryn and band Litesound.

Khamenka says those performing first has an advantage because they have a larger audience. But the youth that traditionally votes in the most active way will wait out up to the end of the show, believes Aleh Khamenka.

He describes his chances as "small". Khamenka is singling out bands Po Glazam and Dali among the semi-finalists.

“Our main goal is to appear on Belarus TV, because anything can happen. If they screen us on Belarus TV, we will be satisfied," says Palac's frontman.

The finalists (2-3 artistes) will be determined through an interactive voting by viewers and by a professional jury.
