Local activist summoned to KGB over defected newsprint in Shklou
Local historian Mikhail Kucharenka was today summoned to KGB, because he issued information that tonns of defected newsprint had been dumped from the recently opened newsprint factory in Shklou, the native town of Alexander Lukashenka, activist Ryhor Kostuseu told ERB.
“Mikhail called me on the phone and said that he was officially summoned to KGB. He told me he was going there and I should be on alert. A local KGB officer who introduced himself as a representative of the presidential administration or the security council had a conversation with him. The agents asked Kucharenka if he had seen tons of dumped newsprint and if he had given interviews or photographs to the media. Afterwards, they also asked about corruption in the town and the district”.
Kucharenka was let go by KGB, but he declines any comment on the situation.
