Lukashenka to approve nuclear power plant site in Astravets in early 2010
The head of the state will take a decision to approve the Astravets site for the construction of a nuclear power plant in early 2010, Mikalai Hrusha, Director of Nuclear Energy Department at the Belarusian energy ministry said in a statement.
Before the construction site is approved, two documents will have to be passed: a report on the evaluation of environmental risks and a feasability study of investments into the project. The both documents are expected to be approved toward the end of 2009, reports Belapan.
