Lukashenka to open stadium built in former Jewish cemetery

A sports complex “Neman” will open with a match between veterans of the Belarusian football association and a Hrodna team “Neman” on June 12.
Let us remind you that the stadium built in an old Jewish cemetery in 1964 has been reconstructed for 6 years. The reconstruction caused a conflict between the international Jewish community, the National Olympic Committee of Belarus and Hrodna authorities. The conflict was settled after a monument to Jews buried under the stadium had been installed nearby.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka is expected to attend the opening ceremony of the only Belarusian complex with the Mondo race-track. It has 10 thousand seats and a VIP- box.
