Lukashenka spends 7-day winter vacations in Serbian resort

The Belarusian leader and his 30 bodyguards arrived in Serbia on two planes on Saturday. They could not keep the visit a secret – Serbian mass media are describing Lukashenka’s vacations in the popular ski resort in detail. The visit will last for four more days (+video).
The Belarusian leader Alyaksandr Lukashenka has been staying in a popular Serbian ski resort Kopaonik since Saturday. He is spending his 7-day winter vacations there. Lukashenka has settled in a 4-star hotel “Grand” in the most luxurious suite “President” (the whole Belarusian “delegation” occupies 15 rooms and suites in the hotel). He is always accompanied by 30 bodyguards. It is reported that Serbian special police troops are also engaged in Lukashenka’s protection.

Serbian mass media inform that Lukashenka and his retinue arrived at Nish airport on two planes “Boing-737” and “Embraer” at 12 p.m. on Saturday. The Belarusian guests immediately headed for Kopaonik in minibuses and buses from there. Probably, Lukashenka wanted to get to the famous Serbian resort quickly without drawing any attention. It may be the reason for choosing Nish airport instead of Belgrade airport “Nikola Tesla”. By the way, the Belarusian leader is the first foreign President to have visited Kopaonik over the last 20 years.

The eminent guest from Belarus was noticed in Kopaonik pizzeria “Garden” on Sunday. He also skied from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. in the presence of seven bodyguards. Then Lukashenka secretly headed for one of the ski-tracks in the afternoon and skied there until the evening. According to unofficial sources, Lukashenka will stay in Kopaonik for four days. An anonymous source has informed that he will meet the state administration of Serbia in the resort today, reports “Blic”.
