Famous literati Volha Ipatava, Ales Pashkevich, Uladzimir Arlou and others attended the meeting. Let us remind you that Kastus Akula died in Canada on January 29, 2008. He was 82.

Akula was an organizer of the Union of Belarusians of Canada and its first head. He organized the printing of the “Belarusian Emigrant” monthly.

The writer’s dream came true in 1992 – he invited a famous musical critic, rock-poet and man of letters Vitaut Martynenka to Canada and visited Belarus. By the way, Akula was the only Belarusian writer in emigration who wrote novel in English – “Tomorrow is Yesterday", 1968 – about the fate of Belarusians in the pre-war and post-war time.

The novel is being prepared to be translated to Belarusian by Iryna Varabei in the series “Motherland’s Library”.
