Military Court refuses to investigate assault of Franak Vyachorka during draft
Minsk intergarrison military court has not satisfied the complaint about the assault and battery of Franak Vyachorka that occurred during his coercive draft. The father of the recruit, Vintsuk Vyachorka, has informed BelaPAN that he asked to cancel an order of Minsk intergarrison military court. It refused to start a criminal case to investigate the assault and battery of the young man and to conduct an additional check-up of his coercive draft on February 24.
V.Vyachorka said that the court’s decision was predictable. However, he noted that a change of notions occurred during the trial. The soldier’s father did not ask to start a criminal case against anyone; he only asked to find out from what unit the people in plain clothes who forcibly drafted Franak Vachorka were. He also asked to punish them according to the law. The court refused to start a criminal case.
Vіntsuk Vyachorka will talk to lawyers and find out whether it is worth appealing the court’s decision: he has 10 days for it.
Let us remind you that the medical board of Minsk Soviet District military registration and enlistment office announced Franak Vyachorka unfit for military service due to health problems in July 2008. He received an adjournment until March 2009. However, the military registration and enlistment office of Soviet District announced that the youth could be drafted on January 16. The district court left the decision in power on January 23. The decision was taken in the absence of Franak Vyachorka and his lawyer.
