Monuments to Duches Olga and Alexander Nevsky to be unveiled in Vitsebsk
The town hall in Vitsebsk has decided to beautify the city with two new monuments. The sculptures of Duchess Olga and Alexander Nevski, canonized by the Orthodox Church, will soon be unveiled. Duchess Olga is a kind of romantic brand of Vitsbesk. Her name is linked with the founding of the city. Alexander Nevsky is mentioned in the local memoires as a son-in-law of the Vitsebsk ruler Brachaslau Vasilkavich. Nevsky paid numerous visits to Vitsebsk and took part in the city's defense.
