Mulla to bless Belarus beef for Iran
The butchery in Hrodna, western Belarus will supply beef to Iran. A mullah is invited to bless the shipments. The meat-processing factory in Hrodna will make the first delivery of beef to Iran. This is the only butchery in Belarus which is allowed to ship beef to the Muslim country. However, in order to meet the requirements of the Iranian side, animals need to get special treatment.
The bulls need to be fed with apples and listen to a special music several days before slaughter. There were neither apples nor the special music at the Hrodna butchery. Mullah Djaffar al-Huseini walked around the butchery with a compass in his hand to make sure that the beef was was moved in the direction to the east on the conveyer. Afterwards, he blessed the beef.
Apart from the mullah, the shipment process was monitored by Iranian inspectors and specialists.
The beef will be flown directly from the local airport to the Iranian capital.
