Navinki newspaper marks 10th anniversary in Minsk
The celebration of the 10th anniversary of the newspaper Navinki took place on February 26 in Minsk. Talking to the audience, Pavel Kanavalchyk, the former editor-in-chief, noted that they were marking not only the 10th anniversary of the publication but also five years after the newspaper was closed down by the Ministry of Information of Belarus.
According to Kanavalchyk, the satirical newspaper did play its role in Belarus's media space "at the right moment and at the right place". He said that the editorial staff later turned into something bigger than simply a group of workers. It later transformed into a creative community.
After the closure of the newspaper in 2003, the Navinki Home Video was launched. Kanavalchyk said it was an attempt to turn the printed publication into a visual newspaper, thus raising it to a new level, reports Belapan
