Opposition accepts government's conditions over European March
The organizing committee of the European March today said a news conference in Minsk that they decided to agree with the authorities' proposal. The particiants will gather at 1400 outside the Academy of Sciences and proceed along Surganava Street to Bangalore Square where a rally will take place. Members of the European Parliament are expected to make speeches during the rally, ERB correspondent Zmitser Trauchuk reports
The opposition stressed the rally would be peaceful.
Aliaksandr Milinkevich, the leader of the For Freedom movement, has also backed the organizing committee's decision despite having stated earlier that he would never go to the remote Bangalore Square again. In this case, common interests are much more important than his personal views, Milinkevich said.
Initially, the opposition wanted to stage the European March at October Square in the center of Minsk.
