Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas today
Today, on January 7, is Christmas - one of the most important Christian holidays, which means the Nativity of Jesus Christ.
This holiday finishes the 40-days advent fast (the Lent), and the fast is especially strict the day before Christmas. After Christmas comes Christmastide - holy evenings, or 12 days during which Christians celebrate their holiday.
