Paranja may lead to 12 months of imprisonment in France

The French Senate has supported the ban on wearing a paranja in public places almost unanimously, reports Radio “Liberty”. Persons wearing clothes completely covering their face may be fined for 150 euro. Men making their wives and daughters to wear a paranja may be fined for 30 thousand euro and imprisoned for up to one year.

The bill was approved by the lower chamber of the French Parliament earlier. The President has to sign the document before it comes into power.
