Poland detains Belarus students on alleged drug-possession charges
25 citizens of Belarus have been detained for 48 hours in Poland, after police allegedly found drugs on the bus that was carrying the Belarusian students. The students, the participants of a folk group from the Belarusian University of Culture, were travelling for a tour in France, when the Polish customs authorities detained the Belarusian bus in western Poland, some 20 km off the of the town of Poznan.
According to Viachaslau Kalacej, the head of the delegation and the dean of the Belarusian traditional culture and contemporary art department, the bus was searched in passengers' absence. The Polish police officers allegedly found a packet, containing amphetamine. The detained Belarusians have been taken to a police station in Poznan for investigation, reports the Polish Radio.
