Poland recognises Lukashenka as President de-facto but plans no meetings with him

If the President of Belarus had not allowed election falsifications to happen, he would have to struggle with one of the opposition candidates in the second round. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Radosław Sikorski said this at the session of the foreign affairs committees of Polish Sejm and Senate on January 5, informs REGNUM with a reference to "Polish Radio" The Minister reminded that the OSCE had not recognised the election results. Sikorski underlined that Poland's position would not create any protocol problems.

"Warsaw will accept Aliaksandr Lukashenka as de-facto President. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans no meetings between the Polish authorities and Aliaksandr Lukashenka at the high level", - Sikorski said.
