Polatsk “Glass Fiber” was ready for US sanctions
The United States has expanded sanctions against a Belarusian concern “Belnaftahim”. Sanctions have been imposed on three enterprises being part of the structure of the concern, - the Belarusian Oil Trade House, “Lakafarba” ltd. (Lida) and “Polatsk Grass Fiber” ltd. The Polatsk enterprise has informed ERB that it was ready for such a step. The mentioned Belarusian enterprises have been added on the official list of enterprises and physical entities the United States imposes sanctions on.
According to the deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Uladzimir Syamashka, he does not see any serious obstacles in their work. At the same time he admits that “certain problems will arise” because the enterprises will have to diversify their products. “Glass Fiber” will suffer most because “there were a lot of supplies to the USA”, says the deputy Prime Minister of Belarus.
Syamashka claims that they expected such a decision from the US Ministry of Finance and assumed some “preventive measures”.
ERB has talked to the manager of American region of the marketing department of “Glass Fiber” Maxim Kirpichenka. He confirmed that the enterprise had expected the sanctions:
"The sanctions were imposed long ago so we were ready. There will be some losses but we will continue working. It is too early to make any conclusions”.
