Pope warns US over atheism threat

Pope Benedict XVI paid respect to the United States during his visit to the White House, but also warned about "the influence of atheism which is emerging in the country".  The New York Times writes that this trend could lead to the legalization of abortions, divorces and sexual relations outside marriage, reports Gazeta.ru
