President of the European Commission to speak before the deputies on the topic of the EU's condition
The President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso will speak before the European Parliament about EU's condition on September 7. European deputies and Barroso will estimate the development of the European Union since elections of the new members of the EP in June 2009 and coming of Lisbon Treaty into force in December on the same year. At the debates which are to take place in Strasbourg, Barroso and the European deputies will also discuss actuaд problems of the EU and important events of the world: rendering of aid to the victims of flood in Pakistan, deportation of Gypsies from France, limitations of scientific experiments on animals, anti-counterfeit trade agreement, freedom of media in the EU countries, legislation on prevention of discrimination of gay families, condition of human rights in Iran etc.
It is not excluded that the deputies could ask Barroso whether the EU's policy with regard to Belarus was successful.
