Presidential election held in Azerbaijan

A presidential election takes place in Azerbaijan today. 7 contenders are running for the president.
Among them are the acting President Ilham Aliyev, the leader of “Umid” party Igbal Agadze, the head of the opposition United National Front of Azerbaijan Gudrat Gasanuliyev and others.

According to the country’s legislation, the elections will take place no matter how many electors vote in them.

It is necessary to get half of the votes of electors to win in the first tour.
