Presidential signature collection campaign finishes today
October 29 is the last day of collection of signatures for presidential contenders. It is known that 10 politicians have already taken the 100-thousand barrier needed for registration. Alyaksandr Lukashenka collected the necessary number of signatures first. Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu, Yaraslau Ramanchuk, Andrei Sannikau and Victar Tsyareshchanka informed about their success last week.
Three more candidates overcame the barrier on October 25 – Ales Mihalevich, Mikalai Statkevich, Ryhor Kastusyou and Dzmitry Us. Uladzimir Pravalski announced he had collected the necessary signatures on October 26.
Vital Rymasheuski’s initiative group was going to send 105 thousand signatures to the Central Election Commission. However, two members of the politician’s initiative group were detained in Brest yesterday. They were delivering signatures from the provinces to the regional centre. Vital Rymasheuski has said to ERB that it causes alarm because if the signatures suddenly disappear, his registration will be jeopardized.
