President’s press service: There will be no discussion of benefits today
Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s meeting concerning categorical assistance announced in October has not taken place. According to the Minister of Finance Mikalai Korbut, the meeting was to be held on November 6. Then they put it off till November 12. The President’s press service explained the issue to ERB.
The head of the President’s press service Pavel Lyohki says:
“The meeting will be held but I cannot tell you the exact date. It will take place when official sources announce it. So saying that “there is a delay” is not true”.
The project of categorical assistance was placed on the President’s table a month ago and has not been signed yet. The law on cancellation of benefits was adopted by the House of Representatives on May 23.
Let us remind you that deputies of the House of Representatives noted that that only 50 or 60 million BRB was planned to be allocated for categorical assistance although the benefits cancellation would give 160 billion BRB.
