“Prohibition” to be introduced in Minsk subway on February 8

It will not be possible to buy beer or any other low alcohol drinks in the subway next week on February 8. Minsk subway police have initiated this one-day “prohibition”. Policemen have informed sellers about the sad statistics. More than 80% of cases of heavy bodily injuries (there were 300 of them registered in the capital in 2008) were caused by intoxicated people. The same can be said about 13 out of 26 rapes registered last year.
