Prosecutor wants to imprison Syarhei Kavalenka in penal labour camp for three years

The Prosecutor asked to imprison an activist of the Conservative-Christian party BNF Syarhei Kavalenka for three years on the second day of the hearing. BelaPAN informs that it looked like the sentence would be pronounced late in the evening on May 13. However, Kavalenka was very tired and said he was unable to pronounce his final plea. The judge Yauhen Burunou called an emergency to reveal the real state of the accused. The trial was postponed till the morning of May 14 after the check-up.

Let us remind you that Kavalenka hoisted a national flag on the main New Year’s Tree in Vitsebsk. He is accused of hooliganism and disobedience to the police.

By the way, May 14 is the 15th anniversary of the referendum that changed national symbols.
