Registered marriages on decline in Belarus

The number of registered marriages in Belarus has dropped by 11 percent over the first seven months of this year compared to the same period of 2007, writes newspaper Zvyazda.
Almost 37,000 marriages were registered this year against over 41,000 in January-July 2008, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security said in a statement.

The trend is common both for urban and rural residents, the ministry said.
